ICISE – International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education

The International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), established in August 2013, draws from a rich legacy of organizing the “Rencontres de Moriond” since 1966 and the “Rencontres de Blois” since 1989. Its core mission is to foster interaction, collaboration, and camaraderie among scientists from both Eastern and Western worlds. Located in the picturesque coastal city of Quy Nhon, Vietnam, ICISE stands as a truly unique institution in the realm of science and education. This remarkable center has earned recognition as one of the world’s top 16 most beautiful architectural and educational sites in the world.

ICISE plays host to a wide array of events, including national and international conferences, specialized professional colloquia, and carefully curated thematic schools, with a particular focus on doctoral students. It enjoys unwavering support and recognition from both local and national authorities.

Since 2013, the Rencontres du Vietnam has organized at ICISE over 200 international conferences in Vietnam, attended by 18 Nobel laureates and more than 17,000 scientists from 40 countries and territories around the world. Several conferences took place under the patronage of four French presidents: François Mitterrand, Jacques Chirac, François Hollande, Emmanuel Macron, and the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang.

Parallel to these conferences, the Rencontres du Vietnam has organized over 60 theme-based schools destined for young Vietnamese and Asian students, covering particles-, astro-, nano-, biophysics, mathematics, computing-, environmental sciences, and sustainable development.
